With the swift development of computer technology and network technology, the application of Computer Aided Instruction （CAI） in the field of teaching is increasingly extensive. CAI is applied to spoken Eng- lish teaching and testing. A spoken English testing system is designed for people learning or practicing English, which can help them to correct their pronunciation and improve their level of spoken Some approaches such as speech feature extraction, HMM -based speech recognition technology matching are used in the paper.
