Various groups of urbanites are diverse yet equal,so is urban life.Housing that serves urban people and urban life also needs to cater to such diversity.This entails a critical respect for all the institutions,laws,norms, psychologies and habits,as well as explorations of the true meaning of urban life in a ＇truth or daring＇ way.Such will necessitate a saying of ＇not so sure＇ to many existing ＇incompatible＇ and ＇unseemly＇ things.Social housing offers a great opportunity for housing reforms,and is itself an unavoidable topic in the process of urbanization.This article records the author＇s reflections on a small social housing project located in the Township of Nanxiang in Jiading District,Shanghai.
