摘要
塞缪尔·贝克特是20世纪杰出的戏剧家、小说家,但同时也是一位文艺批评家。无论是早年的文学评论,还是后来的美术批评,以及出于经济原因写就的不少应景之作,都展示了贝克特系统的、不断发展的文艺美学思想。本文主要从贝克特的文艺批评出发来探讨其美学思想的发展与变化,以及对理解其本人的文学创作所具有的重要启示。
Samuel Beckett was one of the greatest playwrights and novelists in the 20th century, but much less known as an important critic, especially in China. He began to write literary reviews when he was young, and devoted himself to art criticism in later years. His aesthetic thinking, greatly reflected in the profound critical essays, underwent noticeable changes throughout his life. This paper attempts to map those major changes in his literary and art criticism, with a view to promoting the understanding of his creative writings.
