三门峡市公示语翻译之思考

Reflection on the Translation of Chinese Signs in Sanmenxia City

随着全球化趋势的加强和我国对外开放的逐步深入,作为城市名片的公示语翻译也日显重要。各个城市的英汉双语公示语随处可见,但是公示语翻译的现状却不容乐观。一方面,翻译存在诸多不能忽视的错误;另一方面,公示语的翻译还没有得到相关部门的高度重视。通过对三门峡市公示语翻译现状的调查,分析了目前公示语翻译存在的主要问题,并提出了的相应的翻译建议及解决对策。

The gradual trend of globalization and China＇s opening to the outside world has witnessed an increasingly important role played by signs,which are generally claimed as city cards.Chinese-English signs are everywhere to see in cities,however,the translation of signs is far from satisfactory.On one hand,many mistakes in translation are intolerable;on the other hand,no importance has been attached to the translation of signs by relevant government departments.Based on an investigation into the translation of signs in Sanmenxia City,the thesis analyses problems existing in the translation of signs and comes up with corresponding translation suggestions and solutions.
