Translation of Terms in the Metallurgy Materials

文章通过一些实例,分析钢铁冶金资料中的术语不规范使用,主要涉及语义选择的不当,具体可分为以常用意义指代专业意义、以表层意义代替深层意义、不同语域意义的混用三种情况,对此应采取相应的策略。

Based on analysis of frequently occurred mistakes in the translation materials, especially those on the inappropriate expression of professional semantic of terms in elements, metallurgy the author concludes that the mistranslations are elaborated from the following perspectives： everyday meaning for professional meaning, literal meaning for technical meaning, and mismatch of register meanings. The author also discusses some strategies for these problems.
