According to stoichiometric principle,simultaneous nitrification and denitrification is a promising technology for the biotreatment of low COD/N NH + 4 ratio wastewater.The strategies for the stoichiometric control of this kind wastewater are follows:(1)to regulate the nitrification and denitrification through NO - 2 pathway by control the O 2 compressed into the system;(2)to promote the nutrient ratio of COD/N NH + 4 ratio for microorganisms by adding organic carbons.The example of successful simultaneous nitrification and denitrification of high ammonia landfill leachate(average CON/N NH + 4=2 3)is presented.
