Objective: To explore the enamel demineralization by carbonated beverage from the teeth which soaked in the carbonated beverage. Method: 20 teeth of the young permanent first premolar of maxillary were collected from orthodon- tic extraction, which of 20 teeth were randomly divided into group A,groupB. The teeth of groop A were placed into the car- bonated beverage, which be put in the 37℃ incubator for a month, and periodically shake, the teeth of group B were cleaned with distilled water, and then the application of scanning electron microscope (SEM) in each group to observe the morpholo- gy of the enamel surface. Result:The surface of the enamel of groop A was loose, soft, very rough, the surface was alveolate; The surface of the enamel of groop B was relatively flat, dense, uniform and smooth. Conclusion:The enamel demineralization can be caused by carbonated beverage: and the adolescent drink too much carbonated beverage will lead the tooth damage.
