傅雷与黄宾虹早年的"交点"为众多研究者所误解,他们在上海美专的同事之谊有名而无实。1943年他们开始交往的主要原因在于傅雷审美趣味的改变。傅雷广博的中西学背景在他品评黄宾虹的作品时显示出独特的面貌,从中也体现出傅雷沟通中西的艺术理想。
Fu Lei and Huang Binhong's earlier "intersections" have been misunderstood, as their relationship went no fur- ther than mere colleagues in the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. 1943 saw them begin to associate in earnest and the main reason for this is the transformation in Fu Lei's aesthetic preferences. Fu Lei's background as one who is conversant in both Chinese and Western scholarship gives his criticism of Huang Binhong's works an unmistakable feature-a feature that also suggests Fu Lei's artistic ideal of linking up China and the West.
