"意境"是中国古典美学的核心范畴。《论寄》将"意境"论的历史上溯自古典审美范畴"寄",并提出,"意境"论经由王昌龄、皎然、司空图等人的阐发而得以完善,传统"气化"论构成其逻辑架构的本体论基础。这种历史主义角度与古典美学话语的逻辑架构忽略了"意境"论提出的处境以及不同话语结构之间复杂的交织与变迁。
"Artistic conception" is a core term in classical aesthetics. On Attachment dates the concept of "artistic concep- tion" back to the classical aesthetic term of "attachment" and proposes that the idea of "artistic conception" is elaborated and perfected in the hands of Wang Changling, Jiao Ran and Sikong Tu, etc and the traditional idea of "qi" (气) forms the ontological basis of its logical structure. Yet this historicist perspective and the classical aesthetic discourse fail to take into account the circumstances in which the concept of "artistic conception" was put forward and the complicated structural inter- mingling and transformation of different discourses.
