Habitats and Aquatic Animals in the Yangtze Estuary

江河的人海口是上游延伸到潮汐所至河道段、下游通向大海的宽广半开放水体。长江的人海口称为长江口，是太平洋西岸第一大河口，位于我国东南海岸带的中部。长江口潮汐影响到安徽省铜陵的大通，自此以下为河口区．到河口口门长640公里。自江苏省常熟市新港镇的徐六泾以下．长江口开始分汉，首先被崇明岛分为北支和南支，南支经长兴岛、横沙岛又被分为北港和南港，最后南港在口门附近被九段沙分为北槽和南槽，形成“三级分汊、四口人海”格局。

The Yangtze Estuary is the largest estuary along the western Pacific coast,and it is a high productive ecosystem and important habitat for aquatic animals.However,due to the fast.loss of wetlands,pollution and overfishing,the habitat has been affected and biodiversity has been reduced rapidly in the last 50 years.Currently,some conservation efforts have been made,but the government and public need to pay more and lasting attention to this issue.
