庞统考论

A Research into PANG Tong

庞统为荆州名士,曾先后在刘表、周瑜手下任职,投奔刘备集团较晚。后来他成为刘备主要谋士之一,并在取益州问题上打消了刘备的一些顾虑。其后他随刘备入益州,并为刘备夺取该州献计献策。庞统还表现出为刘备尽忠甚至不惜牺牲的一面,他在率众攻城时遇害。庞统有知人之才,善于品评人物,并曾向刘备举荐彭羕等。庞统与法正可说属于两种不同类型的谋士,他是有谋略且有德可称者。

Pang Tong, a celebrity of Jingzhou, served under LIU Biao and ZHOU Yu, but finally joined LIU Bei＇s group, being one of the LIU＇s main counselors and dispelling his certain concerns over occupying Yizhou. As a LIU＇s follower, PANG Tong suggested some ways and means to capture Yizhou and he performed loyally at the expense of sacrificing himself when leading the army into the siege of Yizhou. He was a genius in selecting and judging talents, and he recommended PENG Yang to his master. FA Zheng and he belonged to different kinds of counselors, and the latter was famous for his strategies and morality.
