China's automakers faced some difficulties in the domestic market in 2011: the consumptions were restrained as the government fought with the inflation and tighten the fluidity; the impact of the stimulus policies faded and some cities launched car- purchase limits; the rapid growth in 2009 and 2010 had set high benchmarks. All of these had pushed down the sales of the Chinese automakers in the domestic market. But the firms got a lot in overseas markets. They exported 814,228 vehicles in 2011, rising at a year-on-year rate of 49.45% to a record high. Although the exports flourished, there were risks. The expansion of Chinese autos has brought up worries in some countries. The Brazilian government has set to protect their domestic brands by heightening tariffs. This may bring a ripple effect in other countries. Besides, the quality of Chinese cars still lagged behind the international leading brands. To cope with these difficulties and take more shares in the global market, the Chinese firms will have to invest more in R&D and develop their own vital techniques.
