在近代早期,英国一度出现了垄断泛滥的情况。为此,形成了持续不断的反垄断活动,主要反映在普通法法院的判决和议会的讨论和议案中,并且得到了社会各界的呼应。反垄断活动扩展了行业自由和市场空间,促进了英国重商主义的转向,增加了投资渠道,积累了社会财富。

Monopolies once were in flood in early modern England. So, a continuous anti-monopoly activity formed. It was mainly reflected in the common law court decisions and parliamentary discussion and bill. It had been echoed by the community. The freedom of trade and the space of market economy expanded in this antimonopoly activities. It promoted the turning of mercantilism and increased investment channels and accumulated wealth of the whole society.
