The history of ancient China is written in the many world-famous and beautiful objects that have survived until today： bronzes, woven silk textiles, porcelains and carved jade objects are famous all over the world. In particular, finely crafted jade implements adorned with meticulously carved surfaces continue to capture our imaginations. The sheen of their smooth finish seems to have existed since the beginning of the recorded history of the Chinese nation.
