Objective To investigate the 16-slice and 256-slice spiral CT examination of pulmonary embolism in the elderly application of contrast. Methods From February 2009 to January 2012 pulmonary embolism in 16 cases, based on inspection methods were divided into 256-slice spiral CT group,9 cases,16-slice spiral CT 7 cases, subjective and objective evaluation. Results There were more scan time significant differences(P0.05),mean pulmonary artery CT value, the signal-noise ratio(SNR),contrast-noise ratio(CNR) 256-slice spiral CT group were better than the 16-slice spiral CT group, the more no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion The 256-slice CT tube rotation speed of the ball as 0.27 s,the detector width of 8 cm,scanning speed than the 64-slice spiral CT has improved significantly.16 row by 256-slice spiral CT with pulmonary angiography in pulmonary embolism examination for the elderly compared with 256-slice scan time averaged 3.26 s,reducing scan time for critically ill patients, especially not for a long time was particularly important in patients with breath-hold.256-slice spiral CT in pulmonary artery mean CT image quality and value, the signal-noise ratio,contrast-noise ratio better than 16-slice spiral CT,but no significant difference. In short,256-slice spiral CT examination of pulmonary embolism in the elderly can significantly shorten the examination time, reduce patient breath-hold time, reducing the risk of patient examination.
