Research into Illustrations to the Three Rituals

我们的传统文化,可以说是以礼乐文化为核心的,那么,关于礼的典籍自然很多,而其中有一部分就是插图本的礼书。班固在《汉书.艺文志》中没有礼图文献方面的记载,至《隋书·经籍志》才有收录。此后,三礼图籍的文献记载绵延不绝,至清尤盛,其间存佚情况,梳理条贯,为礼学研究提供另一方面的研究线索。

Chinese traditional culture is built around the culture of rites and music, so there are many books about rites and ceremonies, some of which are full of illustrations. Ban Gu had no records in h/s Literary Records of the Chronicles of Han Dynasty, yet, there were some records in the Bibliography of Chronicles of the Sui Dynasty. Afterwards, more records came flooding in, extensive records appeared un til the Qin Dynasty, during this period, some got lost and scattered. Sorting out of them will provide some clue to the study of rites.
