An Investigation of the Evolution of the Naming Culture Since the Foundation of the New China

建国以来,中国人的姓名出现了明显的时代特征。政治色彩与传统人文色彩逐渐淡化,向生活化自然回归,凸显了人们打破束缚、渴望自由的心理镜像与时代图景。同时,一向处于清晰定位的"性别意识"在姓名的意义建构中也逐渐被淡化,"男性"与"女性"的"角色"边界趋于模糊与消融,消解了传统语言文本的意义;糅合了文化意义的"单字"与"叠字"在姓名中的频频出现,同时注重姓与名意义的融合,显示出现代人起名心理和文化观念的转变,以及人们语言文字运用观的转变。

Since the foundation of the new China, the names of Chinese take on the characteristics of the age in that the political color gradually fade away and returns to the true color of life, which reveals the psychological image and the picture of the age to breaking from constraints and aspiring freedom. Meanwhile, the distinct sex difference sense embodied in the meaning of names gradually fades away, and the distinction between ＂female role＂ and ＂male role＂ becomes fuzzy and neutralized, and the meaning reflected in the traditional names has been digested. All these manifest the evolution of the naming psychology and cultural ideology and the change of the civil use of language and characters.
