摘要
文章通过对上海人民广场建设得失的评析，指出在城市重点地区建设中坚持以城市规划和城市设计对其功能与形态进 行综合协调及整体把握的重要性。
On analysis of the People's Square in Shanghai, the article indicates that it is important to control the development and manipulation the function and form according to urban planning and urban design in the centre of a city.
