The paper analyzed the causes of the competition on coal and electric power. The main causes would be the supply and demand contradiction of the coal resources and the system of the market coal and planed electric power. The coal and electric power linkage would have itself defect and the electric power network would be the largest beneficiary. Facing to the competition on coal and electric power getting more seriously,the paper held there would be three steps to solve the competition on coal and electric power.
