摘要
采用语料库文本分析法系统考察了中国专业英语学习者作文中情态动词类联接的使用偏好。研究发现,我国专业英语学习者作文中情态动词类联接存在严重的过多使用和过少使用并存现象,即责任、义务情态类联接过多使用而认知情态类联接过少使用,且在"有灵主语+VM"这一责任情态类联接中过多使用人称代词作为情态动词的主语。究其原因,可能与语法教学中一贯强调语法形式的准确性而不是语用意义上的恰当性有关。
This study adopts a corpus-based approach to investigate the acquisition of modal verb colligation by Chinese English-major learners.It turned out that both overuse and underuse of modal verb colligation are co-existing among Chinese English-major learners.They overuse those modal verb colligations that express Deon tic meanings and underuse those ones that can express such interpersonal meanings as politeness and mildness;And,moreover,modal verb colligations in learners' language tend to be preceded by personal pronouns and followed by main verbs.The major reason is probably that teachers always focus on the grammatical accuracy rather than pragmatic fitness.
