Study on the issue of the people's livelihood of the Soviet Union

民生是社会主义信仰的民心工程,是民族团结统一的基石,是共产党执政合法性的源泉,是国家长治久安的根本。虽然,苏联的民生也取得了不小的成就,但在综合国力急剧膨胀的背后,掩藏着严重的民生问题。而正是民生问题的长期积累和集中爆发,摧毁了苏联人民对社会主义的信仰,动摇了民族团结统一的基石,消蚀了苏共执政合法性的源泉,最终导致了苏联解体。社会主义国家要善于汲取苏联民生问题的教训,高度重视并积极解决本国的民生问题。

The people＇s livelihood is the project of popular support related to socialist beliefs, the cornerstone for the national unity, the source for the legality of the CPC＇s ruling and also the basis of the country＇s long-time stability and prosperity. Despite Soviet＇s great accomplishments in the people＇s livelihood, there are serious problems concealed in the dramatic explosion of the comprehensive national power. It is the long-term accumulation and concentrated outbreak of the people＇s livelihood issues that destroys the socialist beliefs, shakes the cornerstone of the national unity, erodes the sources for the legality of the communist party＇s administration, and results in the CPSU＇s failure and the Soviet Union＇s disintegration. Socialist countries should learn the Soviet Union＇s lessons in the issue of the people＇s livelihood and pay heed to and solve the problems in the people＇s livelihood. Only in this way can they avoid repeating the history of the UPSU and the Soviet Unioin.
