With the rapid development of economy, the initial situation of the execution oi contract may be fundamentally changed due to the market circumstances. The adequate and appropriate application of the princi- ple of changed circumstances becomes the important concern in the legal practice. This article tries to explore the concept of the principle of changed circumstances, analyses the differences between this principle and commer- cial risk, discusses the standards and suggestions of this principle in tile legal practice in China, and hopes to benefit the development of theory and practice.
