从语言经济学的视角看广西京族地区的“越南语热”现象

"Vietnamese Fever" Phenomenon in Jing Nationality Region in Guangxi from the Perspective of the Language Economics

语言经济学是语言学和经济学交叉发展而形成的新兴边缘学科,近年来引起了国内外众多学者的关注。本研究采用经济学中的成本—收益分析模式分析了"越南语热"在广西东兴京族地区流行的原因,反思了社会中存在的"英语热"现象,以期对当前外语教育规划中语种不均衡问题的解决有所启示。

The Economics of Language is a new borderline subject of linguistics and economics.It has drawn more and more attention from scholars both at home and abroad.Through the ＂cost-income＂ mode,this study demonstrates how ＂Vietnamese Fever＂ is so popular in Jing nationality region of Dongxing,Guangxi,further reflecting commonly ＂English Fever＂ phenomenon and putting forward several measures to deal with the current imbalance situation in planning foreign language education.This study shows that Vietnamese is widely used in Jing nationality region due to several factors,including the investment from the government,national emotions,and the investment of social capital.In addition,the enthusiasm in learning Vietnamese brings about considerable economic benefits.Such economic benefits include not only direct output,e.g.the learners＇ income increasing,but indirect output,e.g.the development of trade between China and Viet Nam.This study also points out the constraints of Vietnamese teaching.It is hoped that this study can supply useful and credible data to promote local economy.
