《监狱文化论》提出"监狱文化"这一思想文化"母题",要在监狱学公共场域中构建一块独具特色的文化与学术空间。人文精神是现代监狱文化的核心内容。强调发挥人的主观能动性,最大限度地发挥人的积极性和创造性,其根本出发点是尊重人、理解人、关心人,以人为中心。《监狱文化论》在基本理论构建中的最大特色或最大突破是引进了"文化研究"的研究方法与路径,把"监狱"作为"文化"进行研究。在转型与重构问题上则围绕"监狱权力"这一核心问题,深度探讨了监狱文化领导权的构建路径和中国式的"规训与惩罚"的本质与特征。

The prison culture proposes the mother topic of the ＂prison culture＂, by which it want to set up a unique cultural and academic space in public field of prison studies. The greatest characteristic or the biggest breakthrough of the ＂Prison culture＂ in the basic theory is the introduction of the research methods and path, the ＂cultural stud- ies＂, research the ＂jail＂ as ＂culture＂. In the transformation and reconstruction ,it take the ＂prison power＂ as the core problem, discusses deeply the construction path of the prison culture in leadership and the essence and charac- teristics of the ＂discipline and punish＂ with Chinese version.
