The development of green paper needs biotechnology——An interview with professor Qin Menghua,vicepresident of Shandong Insititue of Light Industry,who won the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2011

以植物纤维为原料的制浆造纸工业是我国国民经济的重要基础原材料工业，也是我国节能减排和污染治理的重点行业。

Pulp and paper industry,the raw material of which is plant fiber,is an important basic material industry for the national economy,and is also a key industry of energy saving,discharge reducing and pollution controlling.One of study teams in Shandong Institute of Light Industry,leaded by professor Qin Menghua,cooperating with Huatai Group and China Institute of Pulp and Paper,made breakthroughs and innovation in several key technologies,such as decreasing refining energy,clean production with waste paper and improving the quality of pulp and paper,and solved a key scientific technology problem of the selectivity degradation of enzyme in pulp and paper industry,by means of modern biotechnology after more than ten years of research.On Feb.14,2012,professor Qin Menghua was awarded the second prize of the National Prized for Progress in Science and Technology at the conference of national science technology awards held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing,which was the only winning project in paper industry in 2011.In this paper,CPPI journalist interviewed professor Qin Menghua to discuss the present situation of science technology research for China paper industry based on the winning project.
