摘要
菲利普·罗斯的《凡人》(Everyman)是一个关于疾病与死亡的故事,小说以倒叙的手法,撷取一个普通男人遭遇疾病、面对死亡的人生瞬间,来讲述他一生的故事。在这部作品中,罗斯超越了种族和身份的犹太特征,藉由一个凡人的死亡而探寻生命存在的终极意义。
Everyman is a life story about everyman,in which Philip Roth has described how an ordinary man who suffered physically and mentally encountered the death without fear.In this piece,Roth tries to explore the ultimate meaning of being by showing the struggle between death and everyman.
