The present paper elaborates the role of the ironmaking area and the general situation of process flow and task of the ironmaking area at WISCO in the coming century,correctly analyzes the current conditions and advantages of the ironmaking facilities,and affirms that the blast furnace ironmaking is still the main stream in the 21st century and the ironmaking area will remain the bottle neck in the whole process flow in WISCO.
