加缪的思想以及他的作品在学界不乏争议。他在其作品中表明:人的基本处境是荒诞的。他在《西西弗的神话》中塑造的荒诞英雄——小神西西弗,一次次将滚落下来的巨石推向山顶,虽然永远失望但也永远充满希望。这正如人们的生活,面对挫折、失败、死亡时,总觉得生活是荒诞的,但却还是充满希望。

Camue＇s thinking as well as his works is no doubt debating in the academic circle. What he shows in his works is the following： the basic situation of human being is absurdness. The little god Sisyphus, an absurd hero created in Sisyphus Myth by him, pushes a huge stone which rolls off from the hill up to the peek again and again. Though he is disappointed forever, he has the hope forever, too. This is just like people＇s lives： when facing setbacks, failures and death, they always feel that life is absurd, but they are still full of hope.
