从中西思维模式差异谈英语议论文写作构思

Differences of Chinese-Western Thinking Patterns and Writing Planning of English Essay

英语议论文写作是中国学生的一个弱项,也是英语写作教学研究的热门话题。受汉语思维模式的影响,中国学生在英语议论文写作时常常先用汉语构思,然后翻译成英语,常常用汉语的逻辑思维方式构建英语议论文语篇结构,这种"汉语式"的英语议论文令英美西方人难以理解。本文通过对中西方思维模式差异的对比分析、思维与构思的关系和思维与语言的支配与模塑关系的研究认为,树立写前构思意识,培养批判性思维能力和利用英语范文仿写是促进中国学生写好英语议论文的有效路径。

English essay writing is a heated topic in English writing instruction and research as well as a weak item for Chinese students.Due to the influences of Chinese thinking patterns,Chinese students always plan their essays in Chinese,then translate them into English;they are always constructing the structures of English essay text in accordance with Chinese logic thinking patterns.Such ＂Chinglish＂ essays make Western people difficult to understand.Based on the contrastive analysis of eastern and western thinking patterns,and the relative study of thinking and planning,and the controlling and plastic effects between thoughts and language,this paper proposes that establishing the awareness of pre-writing planning,cultivating critical thinking abilities,and making full use of English samples to imitate are of great help for Chinese English learners.
