As one kind of very typical austenite stainless steel,316L stainless steel is widely used in many fields,such as petroleum,chemical industry,electric power,transportation,aviation,navigation,energy development,light industry,medicine and so on.Its surface characters,such as wear resistance,corrosion resistance,fatigue strength and hydrophilicity have affected the stainless steel use.This article has enumerated common used methods of the traditional stainless steel surface modification.Summarized nowadays 316L stainless steel surface modification each way and the research results.And has forecast the 316L stainless steel surface modification research tendency.
