从汉译英合句法看翻译之普遍性特征——规范化

On Normalization from the Perspective of Combination in Chinese-English Translation

翻译普遍性是与语言系统差异和译者个人偏好无关的翻译本身所固有的特点。翻译语料库的建立为翻译普遍性研究奠定了一定的基础。目前有关翻译普遍性的研究主要集中在简略化、明晰化和规范化等方面,而且这些特点主要体现在译文的句法层面。从合句法的翻译策略出发,对汉译英过程中涉及合句法策略的情况进行了分类和总结,详细深入地研究了翻译普遍性之一——规范化在汉译英过程中的具体体现,对进一步深刻认识汉译英的本质具有一定的指导意义。

Universals of translation are the inherent properties of translation that bear no relation to the difference between language systems or the preference of translators. The construction of translation corpora has laid a solid foundation for the researches of universals of translation. At present, the researches on universals of translation are mainly focused on the following aspects= simplification, explicitation, normalization and so on, which are mainly realized by the choice of different words and sentence structures in the target language. This paper studies one of the universals of translation-nor- malization by examining and classifying the using of combination strategy in Chinese-English translation. This leads to a clearer picture of the nature of Chinese English translation.
