牡丹是中国传统名花,观赏价值较高,深得人民喜爱。在本溪地区从未有过大规模引种栽培牡丹的历史,在民间虽偶有栽培,但在本溪园林绿化中却较少应用。为了提高本溪地区园林绿化水平和景观质量,满足人们观赏牡丹的需要,本溪市园林管理处从2007年起进行牡丹引种栽培试验,现已建成了牡丹园,取得了可喜的成绩。文中详细阐述了牡丹在本溪地区栽培和养护管理的技术要点和经验教训,可为在本溪以及北方寒冷地区园林绿化中推广及应用牡丹提供借鉴。

Peony is a traditional famous flower in China, with high ornamental value, and has won the love of people. But in Benxi region peony has never been introduced and cultivated at a large scale. Though it was cultivated occasionally, peony has been seldom applied to gardening and greening in Benxi. In order to improve the level of gardening greening and landscape quality in Benxi and meet people＇s need to enjoy the beautifulness of peony, Benxi Gardens Administrative Office has carried out peony introduction and cultivation of peony as of 2007. Now the Peony Garden has been built, with remarkable accomplishments achieved, which provides technical support for the application of peony to gardening and greening in Benxi. This article described in detail the technology summaries and experiences lesson learned in peony＇s cultivation, management and protection in Benxi, which provides some technical guidance for the promotion and application of peony to the gardening and greening in Benxi region and cold areas of the northern part of China.
