As a new tale which deconstructs the imperial myth Robinson Crusoe, Angela Carter＇s Master is seldom mentioned by critical academia. However, it is not an ordinary tale. Examining the narrative strategy is beneficial for broadening the boundary of Carter research and contributes to disclosing the profound thinking in the tale and her contribution to the art of novels. By means of changing narrative mode, subverting character＇ s sex, reverting power relationship, Carter directs readers to reflect on effects of western racism and colonialism, and showing the strategies and possibility of disadvantaged ethic groups to get out of the dilemma. The image of the girl Friday Carter＇s originality refreshens the reconstruction in the context of post-colonial and post-imperial period.
