Wonderland, the symbol of Oates＇s transitional phase, continues to explore the subjects of her early works, and dares to combine individual fate with social life by richer writing techniques in order to demonstrate the embarassing condition of modem people in America. Therefore, it enjoys great artistic appeal of tragedy.
