新疆史前彩陶由东向西、压印刻划纹陶器主要由北向南、史前青铜器和青铜技术由西向东的流布与传播,构成了史前东西文化交流研究的重要线索。小河墓地为代表的小河文化的发现,揭开了新疆史前考古重要的一页。针对小河墓地的发现进行的多学科参与的科技考古,在推进史前欧亚人群迁徙与互动研究的进程、拓展欧亚史前族群形成与发展、史前原始宗教、艺术等研究的视野等方面意义重大。这些都为重构新疆史前史提供了珍贵的新材料。
