摘要
随着大学英语教学改革的深化,大学英语教学是否应转向通识教育这一命题引发了诸多争论。本文在厘清大学英语教学与通识教育的关系的基础上,以《大学英语课程要求》(2007)为立论依据,将通识教育的内涵与《大学英语课程要求》进行比照研究,从大学英语教学目标、课程设置、教材内容、师资的知识结构等视角考察大学英语与通识教育之间的关系,论证大学英语教学不是通识教育,不能独立担当起通识教育的重任。
With the deepening of the reform of college English teaching (CET), more and more scholars argue about whether CET is general education (GE). On the basis of the retrospect of CET and GE, the author uses The College English Curriculum Requirements (2007) as theoretical basis, compares the connotations of GE to the contents of CECR, observes and studies the relationship between GE and CET from different perspectives including the purpose of CET, the course offered by CET, the contents of the teaching materials and the construction of the teachers' knowledge and finds out that CET is NOT general education and it cannot assume the responsibility alone to implement general education.
