Shen Congwen's Life in Qingdao:In Memory of the 110th Anniversary of Shen Congwen's Birth

1931年夏,沈从文一个从四围是山的小乡城来到三面环海的青岛的"乡下人",在国立青岛(山东)大学执教到1933年夏。在青岛"看了三年海"的沈从文,其小说创作步入高峰期,与相恋多年的女友张兆和确定终身,赴济南为挚友徐志摩送葬,撰文悼念已故的胡也频,声援被捕的丁玲,并与巴金、卞之琳等建立了深厚的友谊,但也"伤害了一些人的尊严",导致此后与几个友人失和、交恶。青岛时期的沈从文抽象而又现实,青岛影响了他一生的长远感情,及至根本思想。

In the summer of 1931,Shen Congwen,a ＂Country folk＂ from a small mountain town to Qingdao surrounded by the sea on three sides.At the National Institute of Qingdao（Shandong） University in the summer of 1933,Shen Congwen,＂seeing the sea for three years＂in Qingdao,whose novel writing was into the peak period,determined life-long relationship with his long-term girlfriend,Zhang Zhaohe,and they went to Ji＇nan to attend the funeral of Xu Zhimo.He wrote articles in memory of Hu Yepin,and support Ding Ling who was arrested.He established a profound friendship with Ba Jin,Bian Zhilin,but also＂hurt some people＇s dignity＂,and thereafter,he failed fo keep on good terms with several friends.In the period of living in Qingdao,Shen Congwen was Abstract and realistic,and Qingdao had a great influence on his life and basic ideas.
