The Zhongguo Youji Huaxue Mingming Cao (The Chinese Terms of Organic Chemistry),written by Yu He-qin,presented the first system of a Chinese nomenclature for terms of organic chemistry.With an introduction to the publishing contextand system of the book,this paper analyzes its naming method,main points and characters.Having introduced its academic impactthe paper points out that Yu's nomenclature has laid the foundation for Chinese terms in organic chemistry.
