英语“予、取”类动词语义与句法关系浅析

A Syntatic and Semantic Stydy of English Verbs Like "to Give" and "to Ask for"

句法—语义界面理论核心是把句法和语义结合起来去探求语言的内在规律,去寻找句法背后的语义动因。本文通过运用该理论对英语"给予"和"索取"类动词句法表现形式的考察,探寻这两类动词句法表现形式与语义之间的内在联系,为其在汉英互译中趋于"信、达、雅"提供理论参考。

Syntax-semantic interface theory combines syntax and semantics to pursue the inner pat- terns of a language and search for the semantic motivation behind syntax. Based on the theory, this paper analyzes the syntactic form of two types of English verbs like ＂to give＂ and ＂to ask for＂, and explores the inherent relation between syntax and semantics in these two types of verbs in order to find reference for Chinese-English translation of those verbs.
