Strategic thinking on the universality of Chinese traditional culture——From the perspective of public diplomacy

对于普世价值的追问并非今天才有,只是当今世界面临的日益严重的关系紧张和信仰危机加速了对普世性价值可能性的探讨。这是时代向世界诸多文化,当然也包括中国传统文化提出的关于人类如何摆脱道德困境的思考。儒家文化内涵中包含具有最低限度普世价值的概念,拥有具有普世价值意义的文化资源。特别是在公共外交视野下,儒家价值观普世化有其独特的合理解释和可能路径,即重视"以身体道"的个人和建立孔子学院。

The questions about the universal values do not exist only today, or only with the increasingly serious tensions and crisis of faith accelerating the possibility of the universality value. This is the era of the world where people ponder about how humans get rid of the moral dilemmas. Confucian cultural connotations include the minimum of the concept of the universal value, with the universal significance of cultural resources. Particularly, from the perspective of public diplomacy, the universality of Confucian value has reasonable interpretation and possible paths, which emphasize an individual who practice morality and the establishment of Confucius Institute.
