Academic Misconduct Literature Check (AMLC) is used to check 163 environmental papers contributed to Journal of Chongqing University from 1 June 2010 to 31 May 2011. It is found that 52 papers repeat sentences or paragraphs of other articles to some extent with a repetition ratio ranging from 5% -40%. By analyzing the results one by one, it is found that 29 papers have academic misconducts, mainly including plagiarism and paper separation; high repetition parts appear usually in sections of introduction and results analysis and discussion, while environmental application cases are not much likely to be plagiarized due to their uniqueness. AMLC's limitations are also analyzed, and measures to improve AMLC's weakness are suggested.
