Triple Mysteries on Overseas Chinese Eunuch Yasan in Southeast Asia

火者亚三是一位居住在满剌加王国的南洋华侨。16世纪初,葡萄牙吞并满剌加后,急欲与中国通商,派遣皮雷斯使团冒充满剌加使者访华,火者亚三随同皮雷斯使团觐见。经权臣江彬引荐,火者亚三得到明武宗的宠信,随侍左右。武宗死后,火者亚三旋即下狱伏诛,离奇身死,留下的是关于他姓名、身份乃至死因的三重谜团。通过对16世纪初东南亚历史及闽、粤等地民俗和葡萄牙使团的构成、明武宗朝政治等进行考察,可以考证出亚三的真实姓名、身份及死因。

Eunuch Yasan was an overseas Chinese who lived in the kingdom of Malacca in Southeast Asia in the 16th century.In the early 16th century,Portugal annexed the kingdom of Malacca and was eager to trade with China,they sent Piers Mission posing as a Malacca Mission to visit China.Eunuch Yasan was in company with them and had an audience with the Emperor.Through Jiangbin's recommendation,he was favored by Emperor Zhengde.However,after the Emperor dead,the Eunuch Yasan was sent to prison and then died unexplained.All about his name,identity and death were mysteries.Based on the exploration to the history of Southeast Asia,folk custom of Fujian and Guangdong,the structure of Portugal Mission as well as the political situation of the years ruling by Emperor Zhengde,this article finds out Yasan's real name,identity and the cause of death.
