Thomas Hardy was a well-known English writer of 19th century,many of whose works reflected his deep ecological consciousness.The formation of Hardy＇s ecological consciousness had a relation not only with his growing environment,but also with the romantic poets＇ nature writing and biological evolutionism of the 18 th century.In addition,Industrial Revolution of Hardy＇s time had also influenced the formation of Hardy＇s ecological consciousness.
