Objective:To explore the relationship between peripheral lymphocyte counts and severity of the disease among H1N1 influenza patients.Methods:Patients infected with the H1N1 virus,including 183 simple and 64 severe cases,were confirmed by real-time reverse-transcriptase-polymerase-chain-reaction assay.Datas of the peripheral lymphocyte counts and clinical features were collected and evaluated.Results:Peripheral lymphocyte counts in severe patients were significantly lower compared with that in simple group[(1.23 ± 0.76) × 10 9 L-1 vs(1.50 ± 0.59) × 10 9 L-1,t =2.958,P 0.01) ].Total lymphocytes counts significantly increased after treatment[(1.92 ± 0.79) × 10 9 L-1) vs(1.27 ±0.63) ×10 9 L-1,t =6.33,P 0.01) ].Conclusion:Peripheral lymphocyte counts may be associated with the prognosis of the H1N1 influenza.
