英语状语从句汉译过程的心理语言学个案研究

The Translating Process of English Adverbial Clause:A Psycholinguistic Case Study

运用心理语言学中的口语报告法收集英语状语从句汉译过程中的思维活动的数据,对翻译的过程进行研究。在分析所收集的口语报告及借鉴其他句式翻译模式的基础上,提出了一个状语从句翻译过程的模式。通过对所收集口语报告的分析,总结了三种定语从句的汉译流程,并对每位被试翻译每个句子过程的种类进行了统计。研究结果表明,英语状语从句的汉译过程不是一个简单的线性过程,而是一个复杂的非线性过程。对这些心理过程的研究可以更好地了解被试翻译英语状语从句时的心理过程,从而更加客观地描写翻译的过程及本质。

This thesis uses verbal protocol method to record mental translating processes of English adverbial clause （hereafter EAC） for data collection. By analyzing the data of verbal protocol as well as reviewing the translating models of other clauses, this thesis proposes a translating model of EAC. The study summarizes three translating processes of EAC by analyzing the data, and also classifies the translating processes of each sentence into each cat- egory. The study shows that the translating process of EAC is not a linear process, but a complicated non-linear pro- cess. Studying these mental translating processes can help researchers understand the psychology of the subjects when translating EAC, which also helps them to depict the processes and essence oftranslation from a more objective perspective.
