Jane Eyre is the masterpiece of Charlotte Bronte,who is a famous talented realist and woman novelist.This thesis discusses the rebellious character of Jane,which reflects in her struggle for freedom,respect,independence and equality.In Gateshead,Jane Eyre’s character develops from obedience to rebellion for mere survival.In Lowood,she rebels for respect and equality.Jane Eyre also struggles hard for equal love,in the end she wins Richester’s love and lives happily.Jane Eyre’s character development reflects woman’s dream in Victorian age to obtain freedom and equality.In the meantime,she sets a good example for women and is a good model for women forever.
