Pu Hong received her doctoral degree from Indiana University in Bloom- ington in 2010. In her eyes, openness and options, equality and respect, independence and self-discipline, are characteristics of American education. 'The library is open to all the community, not only the students. In the library old women, and families with strollers in tow, all do what they like here, undisturbed.'
