孤独背后的抗争——浅析卡森·麦卡勒斯对美国南方哥特小说的继承与超越

Struggle behind Loneliness-analysis of Carson McCullers's inheritance and excess on the U.S.Southern Gothic novel

本文从麦卡勒斯的小说与美国南方哥特式小说的渊源入手,从孤独主题的凸显和孤独后的抗争这两方面研究了卡森麦卡勒斯独特的艺术成就。作品中不论是孤独的主题的呈现还是孤独背后的抗争,都融入了作者对现代社会和父权文化的思考,这正是卡森·麦卡勒斯对传统的南方哥特式小说的创新之处。

This paper starts from McCullers＇ s novel and the origins of the U.S. Southern Gothic novels, and states unique artistic achievement of Carson McCullers based on two aspects, i.e. , emphasis on theme of loneliness and struggle behind loneliness. Both the prcsentation of theme of loneliness and the stn,ggle behind loneliness have been integrated with the reflection of the author on modem society and the patriarchal culturc, which are the innovation of Carson McCullers on traditional Southern Gothic novel.
