摘要
文化积累和文化传播是出版活动的两种社会文化功能,有必要站在人类出版史的高度从理论上来探讨出版活动的这两种社会文化功能。文化积累反映的是社会所拥有的文化内容的总和,出版活动本身并没有增加或减少社会的文化内容总和,但出版活动能促进文化积累。出版活动产生以后,就始终伴随着社会前进的步伐不断向前发展。在社会历史进程中,社会主体对已有的文化积累有着不断的评价与选择,使得文化积累呈现出历史的动态变化发展的状态。出版活动的本质在于文化传播。
Cultural accumulation and transmission are two kinds of social cultural functions of publishing activities. Hence it is of significance to explore them theoretically from the perspective of human publishing history. Cultural accumulation reflects the sum total of the cultural content that society has. Publishing activities themselves do not increase or decrease the total social cultural content, but can promote cultural accumulation. After the appearance of publishing activities, they have been developed along with the society. In the course of social history, social subjects have constant evaluation and selection for the existing cultural accumulation and make it present a historical state of dynamic change and development. The essence of publishing activities lies in cultural transmission.
