This paper introduced the concept of Y2K and analyzed its possible influence on the development of libraries. It also emphasized the necessity of being “Year 2000 Ready” for libraries. Then according to the author's own working experiences, some measures having been taken to solve Y2K problems existing in the library computer managemant system were offered. It hopes that those ideas and suggestions given in the article will have practical significance for reference.
